Government Subsidies For Preschool (Childcare)

There are government subsidies and financial assistance schemes available to make infant care service more affordable for parents by defraying the cost of the monthly school fees. These schemes are only applicable to children who are Singapore Citizens.

Eligibility Criteria

Basic Subsidy

All parents with a Singapore Citizen child enrolled in an ECDA-licensed childcare centre will receive Basic Subsidy.
A higher amount is given if the applicant is a working mother or single father who works at least 56 hours per month.

Additional Subsidy

A working mother or a single father who works at least 56 hours per month.
Families with gross monthly household income^ of $12,000 and below are eligible for an Additional Subsidy. Larger families

* With Per Capita Income+ of $3,000 and below can also apply for Additional Subsidy. The amount of fee assistance is tiered according to your monthly household income, and is assessed and/or approved by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).

*With 5 or more family members, with at least 3 dependants who are not earning an income+ Before CPF deduction and include bonuses, commissions, overtime pay and allowances

Level of Subsidy

The amount of fee assistance will be disbursed directly to the childcare centre your child is enrolled in. You will only need to pay the net fees after the subsidy.

How Do I Apply?

Please approach our Centre Admin or Principal directly to request for the Childcare Subsidy Application Form (i.e. Form 1), if your child is already enrolled with us. If your child is newly enrolled to our centre, you may request for the Childcare Subsidy Application Form
during registration.
Complete the Subsidy Application Form (i.e. Form 1) with the relevant supporting documents and submit them to our centre.
Ensure that your contact details (mobile number and email address) are provided in the form before you submit.
Our centre will submit your completed form and supporting documents to ECDA.
You will receive a SMS and email acknowledgement when ECDA receives your application. You will also be notified of the outcome via SMS and email.

Childcare Financial Assistance and Start-Up Grant

Low-income families with difficult family circumstances, and who face difficulties paying childcare fees even after receiving Basic and Additional Subsidies, can apply for financial assistance.
They can also apply for the one-time Start-up Grant, to pay for the initial costs of enrolling their child into an infant care centre.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, the child must be a Singapore Citizen and enrolled in an affordable infant care centre.
Both parents are working (each working at least 56 hours per month), or have valid reasons if unable to work.
Application must be supported by relevant documents.

How Do I Apply?

If your child is already enrolled with us and you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for the grant through our infant care centre.

Documents Required For Registration

Documentary evidence of the parents’ employment status either by submitting a letter from the registered employer confirming employment status indicating the parents’ designation, OR the parents’ current payslip OR a statutory declaration confirming the employment status of the mother or single father for those that are self-employed. The information should include place of employment, nature of work, and/or designation with the most recent tax statement.
For single fathers: any document which confirms his single status.
Copies of parents’ NRIC for verification of nationality.
Copy of child’s birth certificate and medical records.
Copy of child’s developmental screening assessment report.
Copy of the health booklet to verify that your child has had all standard immunisation as required by ECDA.
Copy of child’s CDA bank statement.
Copy of authorized persons’ NRIC.
