General Manager, 7oaks Preschool
“I hope you and your families are keeping safe, healthy, and strong.
Many parents ask why our preschool is called 7oaks. The oak is often known as the king of the forest. It does not grow the fastest, but it stands firm. Deeply rooted and steady through change, the oak represents strength, resilience, and quiet confidence. These are the qualities we hope to nurture in every child who walks through our doors.
At 7oaks Preschool, our vision is simple yet powerful: to inspire every child to thrive. We believe every child has potential, and with the right guidance, care, and encouragement, they can grow into confident individuals who are ready for the world ahead.
This belief shapes our mission each day. We nurture learners who are curious and confident, create meaningful experiences that make learning joyful and purposeful, and celebrate successes—big and small—because every step forward matters.
When I was in school, there were no iPads or laptops. We learned with pencil and paper, and every pencil came with an eraser. That eraser reminded us that it is okay to make mistakes, as long as we keep trying. This remains an important lesson today. We want our children to believe in themselves, even when learning feels challenging.
Our core values guide how we support each child’s journey. We encourage children to be collaborative, so they learn to work well with others. We teach humility, so they remain grounded as they grow. We emphasise integrity, so honesty becomes a natural part of who they are. We nurture leadership, so they learn to make a positive difference. And we build drive, so they develop the determination to succeed.
To all our parents—both present and future—thank you for trusting us with what matters most to you. At 7oaks Preschool, we are committed to growing strong roots in every child, so they are ready to face life with confidence, kindness, and purpose.
Always believe in your child, even when the journey is not easy.
Be true. Be kind. Be brave.
And above all, be you.”

Our Story
Early Beginnings
In 1983, Taman Asuhan PPIS, now known as 7oaks Preschool, was established as a kindergarten under the ownership and management of PPIS. It started with one class of 30 students and one teacher on 2 January 1983.
Taman Asuhan PPIS was among the first preschools to introduce a play-based approach to early childhood education.
Expansion and Growth
As demand grew, Taman Asuhan PPIS added more kindergarten classes. In 1984, it moved to a larger location at the former Playfair School at No. 2 Burn Road. By 1987, it had 24 kindergarten classes with a total enrolment of 650 children.
From Kindergartens to Child Development Centres
A decade after opening its first kindergarten, PPIS opened its first childcare centre at Blk 557, Pasir Ris St. 51. Named PPIS Child Development Centre, this centre offered full-day childcare for toddlers and preschoolers, catering to families where both parents worked.
By 2010, PPIS had transformed all its kindergartens into childcare centres.
Business Transfer
In December 2021, Oaks Plus Limited (OPL) was established through the acquisition of the PPIS childcare business. OPL has since maintained the operations of the childcare business, ensuring its continuity.
Present Day
Today, there are nine 7oaks Preschool centres and over 800 children enrolled. The centres provide full-day infant and childcare services for children aged 2 months to 6 years old.
7oaks Preschool centres are part of the Partner Operator (POP) scheme by ECDA. This scheme requires partner operators, including us, to keep our fees within prescribed fee caps and achieve quality criteria. These criteria include attaining the Singapore Preschool Accreditation Framework (SPARK) certification and ensuring continuing professional development for our early childhood (EC) professionals.

Seven 7oaks Preschool centres have received the Singapore Pre-school Accreditation Framework (SPARK) certification, which is a quality assurance framework awarded by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) to assist preschools in Singapore in raising their quality. Our centres have also been accorded the highest tier of licensing tenure (36 months), indicating the high standard of care and services provided.
